In November we started a new Erasmus Adventure in order to know other cultures and people. First Mobility was in Istanbul, Turkey...
Each country has its own identity transposed into culture and pages of history. Visiting the metropolis of Istanbul can be a challenge and at the same time an opportunity to discover the contemporary reality through the pages of history. Every street corner gives you a moment to reflect on what tradition and culture mean. The Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia, true works of architectural art, reveal to you from the first steps, the history of a people who know how to preserve and respect their history, traditions and customs. A walk from the Grand Bazaar to Eminonu Square is a journey through time, which gives you the opportunity to meet old habits in a contemporary world. Serving a Turkish coffee or Turkish tea at a street cafe is also a unique and unforgettable experience. The hospitable people, delighted that you stopped to serve something to them, who serve you with a smile on their face gives you the feeling that you are welcome. Turkish students are eager to show you their city, to give you details about what you are visiting, proud of their country and everything it represents. A unique experience for us, students and teachers, in the first mobility of the Cinema my dream project. Liliana Gheorghe, Romania A week in Brezice, Slovenia Our trip started Saturday, all of us were excited, and ready for a new adventure. The car ride was really long, so all of us couldn’t wait to arrive faster! On Monday we got up early, had breakfast and went to the bus with all the other teams. We were welcomed with many warm hugs from our friends that visited Romania in February. We saw a presentation of Slovenia and had some really fun activities in the gym! On Tuesday we visited Ljubljana. We saw an spacious cave, and after that, we had some free time, so our team found a good fast food where we ordered some food. We all took a walk around and saw great shops and street food everywhere. Then, we all went on a boat ride, wich I really enjoyed! I captured beautiful pictures. We visited a castle with an amazing view. We also went to the mall at the end of the day. After I got to the hotel, I realised how fast this day went by. On Wednesday, we all watched movies about a social issue, that in my opinion, everyone worked so hard on! My favourite part of the day was when i learned the traditional dances! We had lunch and then; we had a workshop, where we had to write scripts. Thursday, we visited Knights Hall, and I bought souvenirs for my family. We had free time, so I and my friends visited the small town. We went back to the hotel, where we all got ready for the cultural performance. Everyone had great dances and songs from their country. After the certification, we had one last party and said our goodbyes to everyone. I loved this week, and it was honestly an experience I̛d definitely want to try it again if I have the opportunity. Amalia Neagu, Romania My Erasmus experience On the first day in Brezice we went to visit the school and to meet the other students. The host students had prepared a presentation about their country, which was very interesting and I couldn’t wait to see those places myself. Then we went to the workshop where I made a lot of friends and I must say that everyone was very nice and they all made a great first impression and I hope I did too. Lastly, we went to the gym where their PE teachers prepared for us some games. It was exhausting but also very fun. The second day was the best and also my favorite because we visited the Ljubljana castle, we also had a boat ride across Ljubljana and free time there for lunch and shopping. I and my friends went to Mcdonald’s and it was a little confusing because we didn’t know their language but in the end it was fine. Then we walked over the bridge and admired the view which was incredibly beautiful and we took some pictures. I personally love visiting new places and this one made me want to stay there one more day so I can look at the stunning view of the city. On the third day, we went to Gimnazija Brezice where everyone presented their films about social issues in their country. I have learned so many things about how people are treated in other places and how each group of kids presented a certain problem. Next, we had a break for tea and biscuit where we got to know each other better and then we were separated into five groups and we had to visit everything from the map and answer some history questions it was very fun because I tried to guess where each place was but with a little help. This part of the day was my favourite because we learned how to dance traditional dances from each country. After that, we had lunch at the Primary school which was surprisingly good. The last thing that we had to do that day is start the second social issue movie. On Thursday which was sadly our last day, we visited the Knights Hall and Castle Brezice. It was a surprise when I walked into one of the rooms in the castle and I saw the walls and how amazingly painted they were after our tour, we went to the museum shop to get some gifts for friends and family. Next, we had free time in Brezice, so I and my friends went to some shops and then we got some more gifts. Lastly, we had a cultural performance and every country represented its traditions in the most delightful way. It was an incredible evening! It was a week where I made new friends, saw their cultures, visited new places, and made great memories. It was an experience that I will never forget! Valeria Orbeanu, Romania
